Bosskraft travels to Victoria for a Mustang event
Bosskraft made the trip down to Victoria for a Mustang show with nearly 400 Mustangs in attendance. Numbers were significantly down on the reported 650 cars that their officials suggested would attend, but the numbers were still pretty good. The weather was great for the morning, but the wind picked up quite savagely around lunchtime, giving the trade tents a workout. Below are some of the vehicles in attendance.
Cruisin' in the '65 GT350 from the track back to the hotel, at SAAC-38
We're lucky that we're able to stick the iPhone to the central mirror of the GT350, as it's metal and we have a magnet built into the protective cover of it. Makes video's like this a snack! We're following a gorgeous early '67 GT500 with an early build number. Nightmist blue with the parchment trim - one of my fav colour schemes! It has a hot 428 in it with a nice lumpy cam. Sounds awesome.
Parade Laps at SAAC-38 in our '65 GT350
We couldn't resist the opportunity to go have a few laps around the race track at Fontana, California, for SAAC-38 during the lunch time parade laps time frame. We met a guy that owned another '65 GT350 at the event and his Dad bought it brand new. His Dad had passed on to another life and he'd obtained the '65, which wasn't running (though at the event on a trailer), so we called him to ride shotgun for the parade laps. He had a blast and the necessary motivation to go get his '65 GT350 running again, so it was exciting to be able to do that with him and he hadn't been in his Dad's GT350 car for 30 years! The parade laps bought back vivid memories to him, as a younger kid. Awesome stories to be heard!

Bosskraft attends 'Cameron Burke Memorial Car Show' to display
This was, I believe, the 2nd time they'd run this annual event and the first time that Bosskraft had been. What a terrific day. It was at the Springwood Golf Club and most of the cars were parked on the fairway - beautiful..! Please check out the pics of the amazing variety of vehicles that attended. They had everything covered, from coffee and food for the adults, several live bands taking it in turns up on stage (in a taught-liner trailer on a truck - great idea), to jumping castle with slide and face painting for the kids. All in all, a super well organised event. Enjoy the pics!
Bosskraft rotisserie restoration wins 'Best Mustang', at the All American Muscle Car Show, 2013.
We were wrapped to have our restoration recognised by the '70 CJ Mach-1 winning 'Best Mustang' at the All American Muscle Car Show. It was a great day with a stack of gorgeous Mustangs and American muscle cars. This event is right on the water and is a favourite on the car show calendar for us. The event raises money for a special school for kids in the local area and always raises a healthy donation for them. Thanks to the organisers for their efforts and to Shannons Insurance for inspecting the cars in attendance and assigning the awards where they felt appropriate.
Tour to Vegas, for the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang, April, 2014
Click this picture to enlarge for details
We've been asked to put together a tour for those wishing to head to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang, in April, 2014. We've just finished putting it together for the most part, but some of the detail we're unable to advise on, as the MCA haven't released all of the details yet.
That said, the dates for arrival into Los Angeles will see you arriving on the morning of the 4th April, 2014, and the trip finishing up on the morning of the 21st April, 2014, immediately after the close of the MCA event in Vegas. So, if you plan to continue your trip from this date, this is the morning that you can make your plans to head from Vegas to another location of your choosing. We have not included airfares in this tour package, as many will choose to ride on frequent flyer points or bonus' provided by their frequent flyer programs, etc, making it pointless trying to secure any form of deal with any particular airline.
We've put the trip together as a 'self drive' guided tour, so that you can enjoy the awesome driving of the USA (and their great road network!) and includes car hire. We're assured that they'll be Mustang Convertibles, but that being said, we're not going to be 100% on guaranteeing that, as you all know what car rental company's can be like! If you're not confident about driving in the USA, I have been a driving instructor for advanced driving and field teaching officer for driver development within the NSW Police and would be happy to assist anyone with some practice, once they get into town. There'll also be a number of people to share the driving, if you need a break or simply want to swap around to different cars for a bit of fun. It's a 17 x day trip overall, traveling from Los Angeles, to Vegas. If you know the lay of the land, this trip is normally only about 5 hours drive, but we're taking 'touree's' the long way 'round, via some amazing locations and events, to make this a once in a lifetime trip.
Due to the nature of the trip and complexity of the organisation of it, we're closing expressions of interest for this event on the 31st of May, 2013. We've already got quite a few couples/pairs booked in for it already, some being from interstate and without any knowledge of the trip details. We're only taking a maximum of 15 x couples/pairs on this tour, as any more than that and we believe it'll lose it's intimate nature and become too large to manage. A group of this size will have an absolute blast together. We'll be supplying UHF radios to every vehicle, so that we can all communicate between the cars and this add's so much fun to a trip like this. It'll be something you'll talk about for years to come!
Deposits will be required to reserve your place and your place will not be reserved until that payment has been received. This allows us to make reservations and bookings and lock in all the details for you. Terms and conditions will be provided to all registrants, to ensure your understanding about the trip, the requirements regarding the trip and your obligations with respect to travel overseas and into the United States more specifically. We're regular visitors and part time residents of the United States, so take advantage of our personal knowledge of this once in a lifetime event and the adventure trip to get there.
In conclusion, if you're keen to join this little 'shin-dig', don't mess about and email Sean ASAP, via bosskraft@hotmail.com to register your interest. Again, expressions of interest close 31st May, 2013.

49th Anniversary of the Mustang at the Vineyard Hotel (Sydney), Australia.

Kevin Marti & George Follmer at Barrett-Jackson with Bosskraft
We're really excited to be working closely with Kevin Marti of Marti Auto Works in Arizona, USA and have a combination trade stand at the famous Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, January 16-22, 2012 with Kevin, displaying his awesome concours products on our restoration work. To display Kevin's items and our resto work, we're displaying our black '66 GT350 Shelby, giving it more interest than seeing a pile of parts in a box, or on display on the table. It's nice to see the parts in the context in which they'll be used and this Shelby is a real eye catcher!
The ever famous racing driver and super nice bloke, George Follmer, will also be at the event as an invited guest of Bosskraft. Be sure to pop around to the booth and say hi to Kevin, George and myself. It's shaping up to be a fantastic auction and something that should be on every car lovers bucket list!

Bosskraft to feature on hit TV show, "Classic Resto's", again.
Fletch interviewing Sean
Good ol' Fletch from Classic Resto's, popped out to Bosskraft and filmed several vehicles for an upcoming episode of the current series, featuring on 11 major TV networks throughout the world.
Fletch covered a couple of concours restorations that were currently on the go, such as the yellow '70 Boss 302, a calypso coral '70 428CJ Mach-1 and an engine change on a HIPO Mustang that we were working on at the time.
Fletch also covered one of our customers vehicles, which should make great viewing.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the show and check it out.

L>R: Sean, Jim Wicks, Kevin Marti & Kerry @ the BJ Gala.
We're working together with Kevin Marti, of Marti Auto Works, at the Barrett-Jackson auction to run a trade booth at the event. The event has only just started at the time of writing, but is shaping up to be absolutely huge!
Just attended the Barrett-Jackson Gala night, where several thousand attend on the night. Spent some time also with Jim Wicks, the organiser of the Mid America Shelby Meet. Very interesting guy.

Boss 302 sells for $209,000 at Barrett-Jackson auction, Scottsdale, Arizona!
So much for the muscle car economy being down! This Boss 302 sells for $209,000 at the BJ auction. What a great sign for the industry and collectors, to see the value back in these cars. Also seems to show some signs of the economy turning around on the cars, too.
We assisted the owner of this Boss 302 to obtain information pertaining to the rarity of his Boss 302, so that he would be able to have it included in the advertising info for Barrett-Jackson and also as it went over the block. Suffice to say, this guy was extremely happy with the results of the auction and we were glad to be able to help!

Classic Restos featured Bosskraft, talking about some of their current projects at the time and we've included a section of the show above, as it's not always available for viewing, depending on your location. Fletch is smothering the world bit by bit with the show, as he moves not only through Australia, but through the world with the series. Congratulations to Fletch for a job well done. You'd be surprised how hard he works to get this show together every week and then to keep the sponsors and networks moving in the right direction with it. Check out Fletch's website for more information about the show and where to buy the series all boxed up and ready to watch! www.classicrestos.com.au
GT350 Shelby wins Concours award at SAAC 36
6S1750 started life being leased by Shelby American to the Bardahl Oil Additive Company as their test car. Ordered originally as a black on black car without Lemans stripes, 6S1750 is 1 of 30 black non Hertz Shelbys produced in 1966, making this vehicle one of the rarest Shelbys ever built. After Bardahl finished using 6S1750 as a test vehicle, Shelby American leased the car to Ronnie Bucknum, the famous race car driver. 6S1750 was then sold for the first time as a used car through a well known dealership in San Jose, CA in 1969. After a number of owners, this vehicle was secured in 2010, which by this time, was in need of a rotisserie restoration. The vehicle was in storage in CA in this condition until April 2011, when Sean flew to the states to restore 6S1750 ready to compete the very next month at SAAC 36 (Shelby American Automobile Club) in May 2011. Even with a seriously quick 7 week restoration and being scrutinized by the toughest Shelby judges and competition the world has to offer, this remarkable car and super quick restoration achieved Silver at SAAC 36. To add to this cars history, we're endeavoring for it to be showcased at Barrett-Jackson 2012 with George Follmer, former Trans Am Champion, as our special guest. 6S1750’s full story is to be featured in an upcoming Mustang Monthly. Be sure to grab a copy!

Knotts Berry Farm's 'Fabulous Fords Forever' April, 2012
Our '65 Shelby GT350 at Knott's 2011
Just as we did last year, Bosskraft are off to Knotts Berry Farm for the 'Fabulous Fords Forever' show, which is an amazing collection of Fords from all walks of life. We'll most likely take both our black '66 GT350 and the '65 GT350 pictured at the event to the left. Los Angeles usually turns on beautiful weather for the day and it's a great opportunity to chat with fellow Ford lovers for the day. Last year, Carroll Shelby turned up unannounced, which was pretty neat. If you're at the event, do stop by and say hello.
MCA National event in Utah
'66 GT350 displayed at the Utah MCA Nationals
Hauled the '66 GT350 out to the most spectacular location in Utah for a National MCA show. This was an absolutely amazing location and the event consisted of a cruise through the Zion National Park which is amazing! Sean also judged, as a gold card judge in the concours.

A hole in the history of 6S1750, filled!
Jack Khoury with Sean, at the 50th of the Cobra
The history of 6S1750 is very interesting, having never been sold as a 'new car' back in the day and being leased to Bardahl Oil Additives as their test car and then to famous race car driver, Ronnie Bucknum, before being returned to Shelby American and reportedly used as a company car by their Production Manager, Jack Khoury. This is the piece of the puzzle that we had no paperwork for and no proof of and for a couple of years, we'd tried to locate this 'Jack Khoury' to find out once and for all, whether the story is true, but with no luck in locating him.
In attending the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra, Bosskraft were working in front of their '65 Shelby when a group of men standing near the front of 6S1750 were noticed. On further inspection, one of them was wearing a lanyard with the name of 'Jack Khoury' on it! Suffice to say, a few moments later a conversation was started, with Jack confirming that 6S1750 was in actual fact his company car at Shelby American, back in the day.
6S1750 was sold when Shelby dispensed with the Los Angeles based business and headed to northern California where it spent it's life until purchased for restoration. It'd been in parts since the mid 80's, so it is exciting to have it finished for the first time in 30 years!

Meet one of the Shelby American workers that actually worked on 5S259!
Peter Crane, former Shelby American employee
Bosskraft were displaying at the Knotts Berry Farm, Fabulous Fords Forever show, when approached by a Peter Crane who went on to say that he worked on the assembly line for '65 Shelby GT350's back in the day. Peter even carried his Shelby American identification card with him still..!
Obviously, with excitement, he was probed as to what he did back in those days on the car and it turns out that Peter was pretty much in the pit for the whole shift, putting the unique side exit exhausts on the GT350's on the moving line. Peter said that if you didn't keep up with the line, you were left behind and trouble would follow, so to speed up the process of installing the systems, rather than drilling a hole through the floor pans as was the instruction, he opted to drive a spike through the floors, leaving a sharp jagged edge inside the car (as it was punched from underneath) style of hole in the floor. On inspection, 5S259 was one of those cars with the spiked holes, so it was quite the moment for Peter to be with the car that he'd worked on all those years ago. Peter recalled having to take a peak inside the Shelby's on the line from under the pit, to ensure that nobody was in the car kneeling inside, when he drove the spike through their knee from underneath! Occupational Health and Safety precaution, no doubt!
He went on to say that Shelby's 'employee retention policy' was simple - "keep up or get another job!"

Legendary driver, George Follmer, drives 5S259 to a few shows for Bosskraft
George Follmer behind the wheel of 5S259
How exciting to spend time with such a legend, but even more so to have him driving a classic muscle car that I am so fortunate to own and even more to have him driving! George drove the '65 GT350 to the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra, for a show down there and then to Fabulous Fords Forever.
Well known Editor, Jim Smart, catching us all in the moment
Jim Smart, Jerry Heasley, Donald Farr, Kevin Marti and Sean were at the luncheon for the MCA National event having a laugh (talking 200% business, of course), when Jim snaps pics of them all. Got to watch these Editor Magazine guys! They're quick!
6s1750 wins 'Best early Shelby' at the 28th NorCal Shelby Mini Nats
Trophy for winning 'Best Early Shelby'
We were stoked to win the 'best early Shelby' award at the 2012 Mini Nats event. Big event, loads of cars and perfect weather, made for an amazing weekend of racing and displaying, along with the presentation dinner at the most amazing place that I've ever been, which had some 70 Cobra's on the wall..!

Bosskraft displays in Marti Auto Works newly opened museum in Arizona
Our '65 GT350 and survivor '68 fastback on display at Marti Auto Works museum
We usually spend a lot of time with Kevin and his beautiful family in January each year, but this year they asked if we could bring along some of our cars to display in their museum. Naturally, we jumped at the opportunity and hauled the survivor '68 fastback out there (on the 4 post life to the upper right of the pic) and the '65 GT350. We cleaned up Kevin's Cougar convertible and the museum opened right on time, on Thursday the 17th, during the busy week of Barrett-Jackson auction, in town at the same time.
Most of the well known authorities on Mustangs were in attendance, such as Bob Perkins, Jeff Speegle and Ed Meyer, along with Editors Donald Farr, Jim Smart and Jerry Heasley. We managed to get George Follmer to attend, which became a highlight for everyone in attendance.
Kevin has been collecting Rotunda products since the '60's and has some absolutely amazing items that you will never see again anywhere. It was an awesome day and the museum is a MUST see for anyone in Arizona.
Further pictures to follow.

Bosskraft at Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale, Arizona, 2013
After assisting Marti Auto Works with their Museum opening and display (pic above), we headed out to Barrett-Jackson and enjoyed the displays and of course, the auction. We were honoured to spend one day checking out the auction with George Follmer.
Ford Nth America, kindly welcomed us into their Corporate Skybox for the auction, where we were in the hot seat for the Saturday night 'prime time' auction of many very interesting vehicles, such as the #1 Batmobile, the Prototype Shelby EXP500 and many other super rare cars. You'll find some of the pictures relating to the auction, below and these are about 1/4 of the cars at the auction!

'66 Shelby GT350 over the block @ Russo & Steele auctions in Monterey, California
We were approached by Russo & Steele to put our black '66 GT350 across the block at Monterey, California, in August, 2012 and thought it would be a bit of fun. The car had a high reserve, as it's probably the rarest of the '66 GT350's (bar the convertibles) being one of about 10 x 4 speed black non Hertz Shelbys ever built and is fully restored to an extremely detailed standard. The video below shows it being driven onto the block and the crowd of people around it. It pulled $187k* on the block, but was a 'no sale' as it didn't quite reach the reserve we'd set. It was a lot of fun and we met a great deal of very nice people through the week leading up to the auction.

Bosskraft attends 'Galpin Auto Sports' (GAS) Shelby show in Los Angeles
Galpin Ford, and their partner business Galpin Auto Sports, ran their first Shelby show at their dealership in Los Angeles, August 26th, 2012. I've attended a bucket load of events around the world and run quite a few and this was a well oiled machine. Hats off to the organisers from Galpin. It was a great day, they arranged great weather for us, catered lunch for all participants and people in their vehicles, DJ on site, vendor/s selling super nice Shelby shirts & merchandise of many differing styles and even the PR Officer Leland Tang from the CHP (California Highway Patrol) was on site sharing the good word! They opened their museum to the public and that place was full on real AC Coba's, Shelbys and other neat collectable vehicles. It was a fantastic day with not a negative word to be heard from anybody. Check out the pics below.
Bosskraft attends the NorCal (Northern California) Shelby Mini Nat's at Infinion Raceway (Sears Point)
We attended the NorCal MiniNats for their 28th event and had a blast. It was a fantastic event and winning 'best early Shelby' for 6s1750 was very good for the car, considering the high caliber of vehicles in attendance. It's a neat event, as it's held at a race track and Trans Am/race Mustangs are doing their thing around the track, and we with the show/driver vehicles were allowed to do a few laps around the track as a 'parade lap' and at a decent speed, which was great. Check out the pics below.
Bosskraft attends Cars N Coffee in Irvine, California
Whenever we're in town, we ALWAYS attend Cars N Coffee in Irvine (Orange County, California), as it's a really awesome and diverse range of people and cars that turn up. It fires up from really early in the morning (6amish) and runs till about 9am when everybody heads off. It's great as you get to see hundreds of cars and be home for breakfast! We tend to head out to breakfast with a group of Boss & Shelby guys afterwards, which is always fun. Check out the pics below.

Bosskraft attended the Mustang Nationals in NSW, 2012 with the Cobra Jet '70 Mach-1 that they just finished restoring (the day before!) and won Gold.
We were literally giving the car is first clean up after being put together, as it sat lined up for judging! It's been a long road to recovery for this Cobra Jet, as it had a seriously ordinary life from new, but it's back to its former glory now.

Bosskraft attends National MCA show in Utah, USA
The Mustang Owners Associations of Utah hosted a National MCA event in April, 2012, which was held in a beautiful location named 'Tuachan'. It was situated in a red rock style canyon, with an amphitheater in it. Really beautiful place! Check out some of the pictures of the show and location, along with a cruise through the Zion National Park.
