We've just received another '70 Boss 302 project that needs a lot of work. It's been restored to a point, with the body and paint being done to a reasonable standard, but it needs stripping back to a shell, for the most part, and detailing as it's put together. It's come to us at a great stage, as any more work done to this and it would have been a nightmare to rectify it. We'll show some pics of the 'as is' and continue with pics when we get started on it.
Well, a few days after receiving the car, drafting up parts lists and rough costs to move forward with it, we've been notified by the owner that he'd like us to bring this closer to being a concours car. So, we're on the road to ordering parts and getting geared up to rip into it
The D0ZF-Z carb has been removed from the engine and overhauled. It was fitted with an auto choke system, which was completely incorrect, so that's been changed out to the correct manual choke system, the carb fully rebuilt, the base plate tumbled in our tumbler and the body recoloured. Looks great!
Stripped down, a few paint rectifications completed and the Boss is going back together, detailing it as we go. It won't be 'concours', but it'll be a lot closer to being correct than it started out.
